Recently I am reading the book Tuesday with Morrie by Mitch Albom. There is one particular sentence that I think is really meaningful.

"Once you learn how to die, you learn how to live"

Nowadays, people are too into their own daily life, be it work or personal life. There are times where they never realise what is happening to people around them, until it's too late. A lot of times, people have to wait until someone is going to die, or already die, only they will realise how important someone is for them. It can also be people never appreciate their own life fully until they know there are not much time left for them.

There is also another part, where Morrie held a living funeral for himself. This is really a good idea where you are still able to see and feel, and also tell people who are attending your funeral your feelings, until it's too late for it.

Today I am being tricked by a stall in KLCC 4th floor food court.
According to the promotional sign board, the food cost RM4.50 with rice, and I told them I wanted that set.
However, during the preparation, they asked me whether I want noodle or kui tiao, so I choose noodle.
When I am paying, they charged RM6.50, the argument is the food I ordered is not according to the promotional package. I choose noodles instead of rice.
Anyway, it's partially my own fault for not sticking strictly to what is written on the sign board, but in the middle of the preparation process, they offered me a choice of noodle and kui tiao.
I would say that is intentional misguidance to trick consumers into not getting the promotional price.
I guess they are very desperate for money after the renovation because the rental has increased ALOT.

Lesson of the day: Know what you are choosing.

Don't you think there is something wrong here? It's not about the action of taking drugs, it's about the intention of taking it. Using it for staying awake, for revision, for examination?

This is not the students' fault. It is the education system's fault. The education system is being run wrongly. Education is to educate students, giving them knowledge, teaching them how to make use of the knowledge, to think logically, rationally, critically, but NOT ASKING THEM TO REMEMBER THE DATA ONLY.

The mindset if already wrong. If the students come to this kind of resolve, this means the education system has fail to educate them. Then what is the education system for? For the sake of telling people that everyone been to school in the country? It's useless to go to school when nothing is learned there. It's a waste of resources, waste of time, waste of energy, waste of country, waste of the future!

The future of the country will have to depend on people who have to take drugs to keep awake, keep thinking, and keep going. This is totally wrong and intolerable. What is the difference of this with the prisoners and drug addicts? Will you live in a country which leads by drug addicts?

Yes, everyone does something wrong, and they must be given the chance to correct themselves. However, we are dealing with the fundamental morale and attitude of human. If they are not being education to be good fundamentally, it is useless no matter how many chances are given to them.

The education system here is a failure. It is still based on the old time legacy education system, and even worse than that. Students are not motivated to be creative or critical. They are not allowed to be. Teachers are spoon feeding the students everyday. Students are not taught to understand and make use of the knowledge. Instead, they just know how to remember, or memorize to be precise, everything in the textbook, or reference book. Why? Because in exam, all the questions are based on books. There aren’t any critical thinking questions. Even if students try to answer the questions critically, their answers are not being appreciated. Answering not according to books will only bring their scores down, and scores are really important for the students over here. Students are not allowed to negotiate, or debate with teachers, because teachers themselves are not fully qualified, and they are afraid to admit their wrong!

Under this education system, even the geniuses are force to be stupid just for the sake of passing. Tons of stooges are produced. Stooges that only how to follow, and not to be critical, creative. Those who are sick of having to be obedient are running out of the country to find any place that will appreciate them. In the end, they are the successful one. Those left here are the leftover, who cannot go anywhere because they are being transformed to be stooges and they can never survive to compete with others (this idea from some forum that I read, forgot the source). Now, our country is being developed by the leftovers. How can a country grow to be the top in the world when it is done by the second class leftovers? Chinese has a saying "三个臭皮匠，胜过一个诸葛亮", which means, 3 dumbass still can win a smartass. Although we have alot of dumbass here, but others are having tons of smartass. How are we going to win?

Try to throw away the quota system problem. Every race is the same in the world. It’s the education system which shapes them. Don’t be prejudice on the skin colour. Everyone can be taught, trained, and developed to be successful. It’s now the education system which fails, not the race. When everyone is being taught with the correct mindset, the quota system will be gone automatically, because everyone will understand and able to see things clearly, which leads to the abolishment of nonsense enforcements. For the sake of the country, change the education system, create better mindset. Our kids are the one who will be leading the country in the future.

In first glance, it seems very true. Nobody wants to fail. However, as the person who is suppose to plan for the country’s future, it is intolerable for him to fail to plan. It’s his job to plan for a better future. If he is incapable of planning, then step down and get someone who is not a failure in planning. Look at other countries. There are so many successful examples in city planning, if not country planning. Why would we want to self consoling by only looking at examples of failure? Be critical; learn from the examples of those who are successful.
